Based in Austin, Texas, Plan to Succeed provides specialized parenting education, coaching, co-parenting support, case management, and family-focused services designed to help parents navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and create healthier environments in which children and families can thrive.

Our work is backed by decades of real-world experience. Our founders bring more than 40 years of combined experience in social work and education, with backgrounds spanning the classroom, supervised visitation, foster care, trauma-informed practice, family support, and work with individuals facing complex behavioral and mental health challenges.

Experience That Makes a Difference

 

Plan to Succeed was founded by Sicily Naso, MA, a career educator with two decades of experience serving children and families, particularly those from under-resourced communities. Her experience extends from the classroom to supervised visitation, giving her a unique understanding of both child development and the complicated circumstances families can face outside of it. Sicily holds a master's degree from Purdue University and is also a trained facilitator in the Duluth Method.

She is joined by Equity Partner and Facilitator Amy Burkholder, LMSW, who brings more than 20 years of social work experience and extensive professional experience in supervised visitation. A graduate of the University of Texas Steve Hicks School of Social Work and a certified Nurturing Parenting practitioner, Amy brings a trauma-informed approach grounded in years of working alongside children and families, including those involved in the foster care system.

Their experience is complemented by a multidisciplinary team whose backgrounds include social work, education, mental health crisis response, offender intervention, and family services.

 

Together, that experience allows Plan to Succeed to approach families not with a one-size-fits-all formula, but with practical strategies informed by the realities parents and children actually face.

Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also become overwhelming, particularly during periods of separation, divorce, custody disputes, co-parenting challenges, behavioral concerns, or other major transitions within a family.

Conflict, communication breakdowns, changing family dynamics, and heightened emotions can make an already challenging situation even harder to navigate. Plan to Succeed helps parents develop healthier ways to communicate, manage conflict and anger, establish effective co-parenting strategies, and remain focused on what matters most: the well-being of their children.

Through parenting courses, one-on-one parent coaching, co-parenting support, case management, and specialized anger-management education for parents navigating divorce and custody transitions, we provide practical tools families can carry into everyday life.

 

Our goal isn't simply to tell parents what to do. It's to help them understand why certain approaches work, develop strategies that fit their family's circumstances, and feel better equipped to respond to challenges long after their time with us has ended.
